HC Day 5 - Play Day

PLAY DAY.

Basically, school starts at 830am and ends at 12:00 and all we do all day is have a HUGE rally.
(SFHS version of T.O.)

Sophomores '11 basically won all the spirit points for the week and got 1st place, but every year they give it to the Seniors. We won our Freshman year too, but had to give it away.

The rally was pretty fun. Class dances were al good except for the Freshman dance. Senior's dance was pretty crazy coreographed by Kevin Tjoi.

HC Day 4 - All Around the World X Night of Acoustics

Today was a VERY LONG DAY.

I basically went to school twice. Classes seemed so long, probably cause I was anticipating a good end of the day. So got to school at 7:45am and didn't come home until 9:00pm.

Today was All Around the World day where you dress up from different cultures around the world.

WDYWT: Spain FC Barcelona Jersey, Stussy World Tour track jacket, Saigon tee

Anyway, Night of Acoustics was awesome. There were some good performances. Good job to Marti, Jackie, Ariana, and Roseanne though, aka Velvet Lace.

HC Day 3 - Old School Day

"Remember, remember the fifth of November" - V for Vendetta.
Its funny because today marks the first day for President-elect Obama and V is all about change.

Today is Old School day at school. Sophomores '11 lead in class competition.

Proposition 8, the banning of gay-marriage rights, is passed and I am happy about it.

WDYWT: TH fitted, Biggie tee, Light Blue Made Hiero crew neck, Levis, DeLaLows

After school was pretty fun. A bunch of us got bored and decided to play a whole bunch of ice breakers. Its almost regular now. Bang, Big Booty, Cry Wolf, Jiggalow, Zoo, etc.

HC Day 2 - Election Day

Election day. I can't even begin to explain how I felt this morning besides being pretty nervous . There was a weird feeling in the air.

Today at school was Born in America Day - A lame way to show nationalism for election day.

WDYWT: Supreme Soul tee, Levi long sleeve, Levis, Pumas

Here is our hall decoration. Theme was Austin Powers. Lame.

We had a school wide mock election. I went to the voting poll 5 times and honestly couldn't decide. I was just so undecided. I guess all this time I was just waiting and thinking that when the day came, I would know. It was hard. Even though it didn't count, I didn't vote because I didn't have my head straight and I didn't want to vote being influenced. Even though it didn't mean anything whatsoever, I felt that it had a special importance in how I would vote 4 years from now. Obama won the mock election.

Towards the evening, I came home and tuned into the election coverage's. I stopped and thought over everything for awhile. I probably watched a good 3 hours of coverage. Democrats now hold the majority seats in both the House and the Senate.I'm not sure if I finally took a side or not, but when they announced the winner, I had the ineffable feeling. It wasn't a good or bad feeling. It was like I was frozen and I was taking in everything. I realized that that moment would be a moment I would remember for a long time. A moment in history that I would live in to tell my grandchildren about. The 44th president, Barack Obama, becomes the United State's first African-American president. Obama won the electoral vote 338 to McCain's 156. The popular vote was also very close with Obama leading 51% to McCain's 49%.

I hope for a bright future because it is going to be a very long journey of change.  We need EVERYONE to come together and work with each other to reach our goals. Hopefully this change will mark a new era following Reagan. Respect for McCain for a hard fight. And a new hope in ourselves, our country, and our world with Barack Obama. We are ready. Yes we can.
