Halloween

Long day. Pretty fun.

Where's Waldo? Enjoy.

So SFHS doesn't allow students to use camera's during school hours or they will be confiscated. That won't stop me.

Halloween was pretty fun. Came home and took a nap. Chilled with Carinna, Jimmy, Alex Harjono, and Angela for a few hours, then Angela, Ray and I went over to Jomar's and met up with the rest of the SFHS crew. Didn't do as much trick-or-treating as everyone else did. Ray and I missed out on Kevin's party. Sorry, no ride. I had a good time though. Spent some quality time with my friends.

Stressful school week

I just want to get this week over with. There is so much to do with so little time. I guess I'm paying for the  consequences of my actions by not finishing my work when I need to and procrastinating.

I have tests, essays, and loads of homework on top of going to SJB retreat meetings, finding a Halloween costume, and after school activities. I've been getting less sleep, but its not as bad as last year. I shouldn't even be blogging right now, but I'll edit later.

UCLA Band X Hidden Villa

Not enough time for an entry so here was my day:

- UCLA band came and practiced on our football field from 8-12pm. They were great.
- Went to Hidden Villa with the BRIC Brothers
- Community service at Hidden Villa as a Halloween park tour guide for 4-12 year olds.

Here are some Biology Class quotes from the past week:

Sacred Heart Nativity X VC FB Game

Since I'm in need of finishing my Spanish essay, here is a quick run down and I'll edit later:

-Retreat at Scared Heart Nativity, San Jose
-Tutored a 7th grader
-Football game
-Final score Valley Christian: 47, Saint Francis: 14

Tutoring at Sacred Heart Nativity was a really great experience. I got to see first hand kids that try really hard in school because that actually want to do something with their lives. I've grown to appreciate and not take advantage of my home, school, and opportunities, especially my chance at a high education. Good luck Montsenat!

I found this REALLY funny.

Milpitas Homecoming

Friday:

Today felt like a Tuesday because classes didn't start until Thursday. The whole day I just wanted to get out of school. I was pretty anxious about the Homecoming game that night. I finished watching the movie Antwone Fisher. Its a pretty good movie. After school I just chilled around. Some Mountain View guys came and we just chilled.

Friday night:

Milpitas High Trojans vs Mountain View High Spartans

Its kinda funny because Mountain View High is down the street from my school, and then Milpitas high is down the street from my house.

It was a pretty fun night. The game went well for MHS after the first quarter. The game ended in a 58-13 win for Milpitas over Mountain View. Steven Fanua was crowned Homecoming King.

Saturday:

Following a long day, the highly anticipated Homecoming Dance was here. I drove to Mervyns earlier that morning because they are having this huge closing sale. I was in luck, I found this teal dress shirt that matched Victoria's dress very well. It was very lucky that I found it the day of. Anyway, I chilled at Jomar's for a bit before I got ready and headed off to Ray's at 4pm. I met up with Matt at Ray's house and we waited for Russ to get there before we headed off the Kevin Miranda's house for the pre-dance get together. They took hella pictures. I was the only one whose date didn't come. It was cool though.

We all finally left Kevin's at 645pm and got there early to take get in line to take pictures. I met up with Victoria and everyone else and went to take pictures. There were about 40 of us all together. Started dancing at about 815pm. Half way through the dance, Victoria and friends got into a little trouble and had to leave at 930. Everything was all right though.

After the dance, we headed over to Denny's at around 11pm. It took forever to order and eat. Ended the night at home by 120am. Long ass night.

PSAT X La Milpa

So today I had PSATs. I did all right. For the 30 min essay, I took like half the time just sitting there and finished up my essay in 10-15 minutes.

Later that day, I went to eat at La Milpa with Lynn and Mimi for my Spanish project. It was pretty good. I came home to a Kairos faith sharing at my hosue that lasted until 1130pm.

I also got my SB800 today. Here is a picture of the set:

Columbus' Four Day Weekend

Tuesday 10/14/08 - Biking

Teacher's in-service today, no school. I didn't do much today. I just took my bike out and biked around Milpitas while taking pictures at the same time. I'm getting a used SB800 Speed Light soon. I was supposed to go to Bell today just cause everyone else had school. SFHS is finally gonna get a Lacrosse team and I'm shooting for it. Anyway, PSATs are tomorrow. What a drag...

I'll see if I can get some picture up later...

Monday 10/13/08 - Chili's

So today my mom wakes me up and makes me drive her to Costco so she can buy food. I guess I'm a chauffeur or something now. Just kidding.

I chilled with Ray for the rest of the day. We went to MHS because they don't celebrate Christopher Columbus, Hahahahah. Actually, I don't even know why we are off today. Anyway, afterwards, we went to Chili's for the MHS Sophomore class fundraiser. It was pretty fun.
I'll see if I can get pictures up later.

Sunday 10/12/08 - Great Mall for Homecoming clothes:Teal

Today had a very cold morning. I woke up and watched some football.

Atlanta Flacons vs the Chicago Bears game was amazing. So amazing that I'm going to recap just for future reference.

Feel free to skip to the next paragraph. In the last 4 minutes, 19-10 Chicago trailing with the ball, then a goal line stand by the Falcons, forcing a field goal 19-13. Then an 85-yard kickoff return by Atlanta’s Jerious Norwood. ATL killing the clock down to 2:30 for a field goal. Then Elam, the kicker, misses for the first missed field goal in 31 attempts, turn over on downs. The Bears have a gutty 80 yard drive that end with Kyle Ortons touchdown pass to Rashied Davis to take the lead 20-19 with 11 seconds remaining. Finally, with the Atlanta fans feeling disappointed, the Falcons have a kick off return with 6 seconds remaining in the game. Matt Ryan hooks up with Michael Jenkins on a 26-yard catch as he goes out of bounds at the 38 yard line with 1 second remaining. Elam has a chance for redemption as he attempts a 48 yard game winning field goal. The ball flies through and the Falcons win.

Anyway, Today I went to GM for Homecoming shopping with a good chunk of people. Its so difficult to find a dark teal tie. I basically went through the entire mall looking for something to match Victoria's dress. She even went to Eastridge to look for clothes. Afterwards, I went o LaSan for the information meeting on the Vietnam trip next summer with Frere Phong.

I came home to Russell's Yahoo! NBA Fantasy Draft. It was my first ever fantasy leage and it took an hour and a half to draft.

So I've had this song in my mind since Friday when it was used for morning prayer.

Its Never Let Me Down by Kanye West feat. Jay-Z and J-Ivy, but the excerpt is taken from J-Ivy's verse, a poem.

[J.Ivy:]
We are all here for a reason on a particular path
You don't need a curriculum to know that you are part of the math
Cats think I'm delirious, but I'm so damn serious
That's why I expose my soul to the globe, the world

I'm trying to make it better for these little boys and girls
I'm not just another individual, my spirit is a part of this
That's why I get spiritual, but I get my hymns from Him
So it's not me, it's He that's lyrical

I'm not a miracle, I'm a heaven-sent instrument
My rhythmatic regimen navigates melodic notes for your soul and your mental
That's why I'm instrumental

Vibrations is what I'm into
Yeah, I need my loot by rent day
But that is not what gives me the heart of Kunte Kinte
I'm tryina give us "us free" like Cinque
I can't stop, that's why I'm hot

Determination, dedication, motivation
I'm talking to you, my many inspirations
When I say I can't, let you or self down

If I were of the highest cliff, on the highest riff
And you slipped down the side and clinched on to your life in my grip
I would never, ever let you down
And when these words are found
Let it been known that God's penmanship has been signed with a language called love
That's why my breath is felt by the deaf
And why my words are heard and confined to the ears of the blind
I, too, dream in color and in rhyme

So I guess I'm one of a kind in a full house
Cuz whenever I open my heart, my soul, or my mouth
A touch of God reigns out

Saturday 10/11/08 - All Day Drive

Very tiring day, but finally finished Behind-the-Wheel training. Didn't do much but drive all day and surprisingly, I'm kinda sick of it. Makes me tired.

So, I woke up at 930am and went for my last day of training. Drove all the way to Valley Christian. Came home, drove to TK Noodle for lunch, then to GM to drop off Mimi.

Came home, cleaned the room. Went to hem and tapper my jeans, then picked up Mimi and drove to Most Holy Trinity for mass. Then, I drove alllll the way to Union City to eat at Texas Roadhouse for steak. It was pretty good.

SFHS def SI and MHS def LG. Nice!

Anyway, I listened to T.I.'s new album and it is pretty good.

Listen to it.

Oktober Fest!

Ending off German week at school is our Oktober Fest sponsored by the International Club.
It was pretty fun with balloon tosses, donut eating contest, and German hot dog and pretzel sales.

It was a great way to end the week. Plus, I get a four day weekend! Whoooo! PSATs on Wednesday though....

Anyway, after school I came home to a letter from an old friend, which lifted my mood. Thanks, I'll write back soon. I went to the first Confirmation 09 meeting and helped out. Paulina and I left for Foster Freeze for ice cream and then I went off the YFC for Crisann and Jennifer's meeting on Values. It was a pretty long day, which is good. I like long days more than short fast days because life slows down and I actually get the chance to live it. Where as short fast days just seem like everything around me is moving a superspeed and I can't "live".
After the meeting James and Jeremy dropped me off.

The weather is getting pretty windy, pretty fast. Pictures up soon.

South African Soweto Choir

So today was a pretty good day.

I got to skip most of school to go on a field trip for my Steel Drums class. We went to Stanford University to see this South African Soweto Choir. It actually was a pretty interesting experience. I really regret not bringing my camera. The South African music was amazing. The singing, drumming, and dancing that they put on was quite a show. All the choir and steel drums classes went so Khrysten, Kathryn, Ariana and Roseanne went too.

Later on that day, I went home and chilled at Jomar's and Mios' for a little bit.

BRIC Brothers

Today was a pretty long day. Didn't get much homework done over the weekend so I was loaded with homework due today.

Tonight I was inducted and initiated as a BRIC Brother. Finally. It feels good to have a brotherhood at SFHS. Now we have something more to compete with against BCP.

Anyway, I had a short talk with my cousin about college and I'm getting pretty nervous. College is coming up soon and I'm going to have to work so much harder even though I'm doing well now.

Well, I'll upload pictures later. I spent a good chunk of time trying to find a Image program for my Mac. I found Aperture 2. Its working pretty well, but its kinda slow. I'll get pictures up from today as soon as I finish homework and upload pictures from last weekend. Haha.

Happy Monday!
